About the Unicorn</u>
A unicorn (from Latin unus 'one' and cornu 'horn' ) is a mythological creature. Though the modern popular image of the unicorn is sometimes that of a horse differing only in the horn on its forehead, the traditional unicorn also has a billy-goat beard, a lion's tail, and cloven hoovesthese distinguish it from a horse. Marianna Mayer has observed (The Unicorn and the Lake), "The unicorn is the only fabulous beast that does not seem to have been conceived out of human fears. In even the earliest references he is fierce yet good, selfless yet solitary, but always mysteriously beautiful. He could be captured only by unfair means, and his single horn was said to neutralize poison." The Unicorn can be depicted as anything, from a horse to deer, cow to goat, all shown with a single horn, sometimes even two.

"A Boy with Unicorn"
"It was a lonely day, with not much going on. It was still, and silent, and in this sileness, was a boy standing beside a aged Unicorn. Tears streamed down the unicorn's face as he listened to the boys grim words. "Kill me please." The boy finally whispered, closing his eyes and looking down. "Please" This world of depression, hate, and fear that circled the boy was unbearable. The only thing that could save him was death. The unicorn, tears streaming from it's sad eyes, couldn't take it. Was this really happening? The boy he had trusted and cared for was now requesting for him to kill him. There was silence, the boy was waiting, and time was passing. Each second quivered by, and finally, the unicorn took a step towards the boys bare stomach, the tip of his horn touching his chest. The boy only breathed, waiting. Not wanting to linger, the pain of waiting rushing through both there bodies, the unicorn punctured his skin, and the boy leaned into his horn, as he moved forward and forward still untill his horn was completly in the boys chest. A groan of pain was released, and tears flowed from the beast's eyes as the boy's weak hands rose to stroke his face, reassuring. All would be well."

The first issue, complete! I love it for a first, and I hope you do to! Isn't it weird how the theme is happy yet the short story is sad? I was listining to "Slipped Away" by Avril Lavigne while writing it, it really set the mood! I love Unicorns so this was soooo much fun to do. If you have any suggestions, fire away! If you where featured, then congrats, and trust me, I really wanted to pick all unicorn art to feature! It was very hard to choose just a handful. But that's why we have other issues, of course. See ya next time!
